God’s Love is eternal and ever present, yet it is unknown to many. When we accept God’s love the silence is broken. We are born into the world innocent and naive. As we become aware of the world our innocence is lost. As we learn we become less naïve. Our deafness is made with bricks of self-awareness mortared with worldly knowledge. It is only when we see through our own illusions that we begin to hear the one Truth behind it all. Slowly we return to God as a child, innocent and naïve, but this time it is through our surrender and faith that we break the silence we have imposed on ourselves.
We find the Love of God through a fog. The love is sometimes invisible and at other times as plain as day. God’s love is as subtle as air. It surrounds us, provides us with the vitality of life, is painful when it is absent and still we must concentrate and focus to realize that it is there at all. Even so, there are signs of God’s love everywhere we look. It takes a breeze to cool us when things are hot or a storm to interrupt our plans for us to be reminded that God is there.
The Silence of Meher Baba
Meher Baba gives a human voice to God’s silence. In every phrase in every language that has ever been, he spoke the universal silence. In the age of the New Humanity, people will recognize the silence and begin to hear. It will not be through some instantaneous worldwide event. It will be one word, love. It will not be heard using any human sense, it will be heard with our hearts: the God that is within us all. As the first tiny whisper is realized, each person will begin to change. The only conscious effort is the struggle by each individual as they fight to maintain the comfort and security of the silence of self.
To the world, the breaking of the silence is like a gentle rain. Some will be so inside their deafness that they will not hear. Some will find the noise inconvenient. Some will find the sound of love soothing and turn to follow in its direction. One by one people will become part of the voice of the broken silence with all of their body, mind and soul. Just as each drop of rain will pool with others to form a wash, each new voice adds to the growing awareness. At first the world will not change, but as the drops mingle from a wash to a stream and eventually into a mighty river, the flood of love will become so great that the world will yield. What is impossible will become inevitable.
The Birth of The New Humanity
Only now, with the full expression of ego and self, has humankind’s consciousness matured. Now, with the new ability to be more than any other species ever before, humankind as a whole will begin to listen through the deafness that has been part of life since the very beginning. The breaking of the silence has begun.
