Should the new Christ teach something new?
Should the new Christ begin a new religion?
Should everyone know the new Christ?
Should the new Christ be my personal Savior?
Should the new Christ be a man who
lives as God, teaches as God, loves as God and works as God?
When I am first introduced to Meher Baba’s teachings in 1993 I am skeptical that he is The Christ. My nature is that of a skeptic and the strangeness of a foreign mystical religious figure required some questioning. I put together a list of questions as a basis to help prove or disprove the validity of potential candidates for The Messiah or God in human form. Since there is no way to scientifically prove that anyone is the True Messiah, my questions are only a validation for my own faith and beliefs. Even with my test, it took many years and dozens of personal miracles for me to come to any conclusion about the return of The Christ. In fact, it was not until I studied Meher Baba in particular that I put as much effort into studying Jesus Christ. More importantly, through the writing and influence of Meher Baba, I became much closer to Jesus Christ. In a way I have the confusion and blessing of two Christs, each with different influences in my life, each focusing my faith with more intensity and teaching me in different ways aspects of the same Truth. I am not about to evangelize any benefits or suggest my path for anyone else, for it is no better than any other, and possible very unsuitable for many. In my search I did find some great knowledge or Truth that is not in the Bible. In fact, I still believe that Christianity, with surrender to Christ as the savior, is perhaps the most accessible and sensible path. Yet, every person must find their own proof based on questions formed from their own beliefs, and it is the forming of an absolute faith in God and committing to a life of service in God’s Name and with God’s Grace that is important.
